How do I use iQuran on Android OS (i.e. Google G1)? |
v1.0.1 Beta Update Note: The new beta includes:
1. Audio Repeat Bubbles (repeat surah, continuous recitation to next surah and repeat verse features)
2. Screen stays on throughout recitation and download
3. Bottom bar icons improved
iQuran on Android is a Free software (and will remain a free software) that offers you:
1. Verse by verse audio playback
2. The complete Holy Quran in Arabic along its English Translation (by Shakir)
3. Bookmarking verses
4. Extreme ease of use and full control over the navigation of the Holy Quran
iQuran has several features, some of these are discussed below:
Index Screen:
The first column on the left indicates availability of downloaded Surah Audio. Second column shows Bookmarks for the given Surah (if one or more were set), third displays Surah Names, fourth Hezb and fifth Juzz.
There are three lists on the screen. First is for Surahs. Second is for Hezb and third for Juzz (or Para). You can independently scroll the required list and tap on a Surah or a Juzz to open the respective chapter.
Tap on greyed out surahs to download their respective data. Tap on the sound icon to download Audio for an available surah.
Surah Screen:
Tap on the top green bar to view available options.
Tap on the top right sound icon to initiate verse by verse playback of the surah.
Tap on any verse and tap on the Play button to play that particular verse and the following verses.
In play mode, use the top two bubbles to repeat Ayah from 1 to infinity times or repeat the Surah infinity times.
To quickly scroll down to a specific verse, press down your finger on the left column on the screen and move your finger upwards or downwards to see a Fast View of the verse you wish to jump to.
Tap on the top right ornament to move to the next surah.
Tap on the top left ornament to move to the previous surah.
To bookmark a verse: Tap and hold on any verse for one second. To un-bookmark, tap and hold again. You can manage bookmarks separately in the Bookmarks Screen.
Important Note: You need a SD Card installed in your Android device in order to download Surahs and their Audio files.
Please note that we do NOT accept donations. This is a free software with full capabilities. However in future iQuran Pro will be released with support for more translations, recitations, bookmarks and other upcoming features. This will happen when Google opens support for Paid apps on the Android Market. iQuran is not and will not be sold or distributed via any other means/channel.
