When is Ramadan in 2010?

Ramadan in 2010 will start on Wednesday, the 11th of August and will continue for 30 days until Thursday, the 9th of September. In North America (USA), in 2010 Ramadan will start a day later - on Saturday, the 12th of August (tentative dates). Dates will be confirmed when the new moon is actually sighted.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Muslims consider this whole month as a blessed month. They fast during the days of this month and make special prayers at night. People also give more charity and do extra righteous deeds. How do you know the Ramadhan start and end dates? To my knowledge you have to sight the new moon to have this info regardless of the ilm-al-falak!

Guided Ways: For this reason why say "(tentative)" against the date. When the date was confirmed, we removed the word "tentative" to indicate it's now confirmed.

Ramadhan in the UK is on the 1st september NOT the 2nd september. It is going to be the same as Saudi Arabia. Please, change this information. Salam
